Yes, of course there was more to it.

I did rely heavily on Google Scholar for discovering the bulk, but after the first 20 or 30 pages of results in G.S., you start to hit things that are duplicates, or not always real papers (e.g., stuff posted to semanticscholar.org or similar sites with uncertain provenance), or things not written in English. I tried to weed out the problems, and avoid duplicates. In addition, I also searched for relevant terms in IEEE's site, as well as the Springer and Elsevier journal sites. To some degree I also tried Wiley, but their site is more difficult to use efficiently and our institution doesn't seem to have access to as many of those journals, so I likely missed things there. In principle, the G.S. searches should have caught everything that searching in IEEE/Springer/Elsevier/etc. would, but I feel fairly certain I discovered a few more going directly to the sites.

The result is certainly incomplete, as we already know. I'll do another sweep in the very near future to try to pick up more references. If people can point me to additional sources (e.g., particular journals I should search in), I'll be happy to look into them. My time is not infinite for this work but I'll do what I can.
