[Nfd-dev] problem getting started with NFD 0.3.1 binaries

Steve,

Some things to check:

1. Is nfd actually running?

2. What does the nfd log file say?

Its possible the nfd.conf file is not quite right. I just upgraded all the Testbed nodes (a couple are 14.04) but didn’t
use the new config file. I used a new one I had already crafted for the Testbed. When I didn’t put that
one it nfd would not run properly with my older nfd.conf file.

If you want to compare what you have with what is on the Testbed take a look at the CSU nodes /etc/ndn/nfd.conf.

Hi all,

I have a brand new Ubuntu 14.04 VM and I'm trying to install the 0.3.1 release from the ppa. I'm following the instructions from http://named-data.net/doc/NFD/current/INSTALL.html and everything seems to have installed ok.

I do a quick nfd-stop and nfd-start for good measure. However, when I run nfd-status I get:

ERROR: error while connecting to the forwarder (Connection refused)

The 0.3.1 source installation seems to work ok. Is there something wrong on my end or with the ubuntu packages?
