I don't think we should use the lua script while running tshark or do any processing as it consumes too much CPU (I don't see your change doing this - so looks good). I think another option this change could have is to optionally increase the MTU of links to something bigger than 1500 (maybe 9000) if the user knows that packets will be large and could be fragmented. This way we don't have to post-process the pcap for assembling the fragments either.

The MTU is determined by what kind of network links the user wants to emulate in a real scenario, not set based on the convenience of collecting measurements.

Hi all,

I just started working with MiniNDN again. Since the major re-design, MiniNDN feels even easier to use than before. For my current evaluation I'll develop some utility apps which IMHO almost everyone needs. Just as one example, one of those utility tools is a TShark logging app, which captures network traffic as PCAP file.

Is the MiniNDN team interested in integrating such apps? If yes, I could submit those apps as small patches on Gerrit.
