[Nfd-dev] Create a Local NDN Router

Good day!


I would just like to ask how to create a local NDN router so that I do not need to connect to the NDN testbed. I am currently trying to test existing NDN apps such as NDNWhiteboard on Android. They always work as long as the devices are connected to the internet. If I create a mobile hotspot and connect the two devices to it, NDNWhiteboard doesn't work anymore. I am assuming this is because the hotspot is not connected to the internet. However, upon checking NFD, the routes show that the NDNWhiteboard uses a prefix with a face like "tcp4://127.0.0.1:xxxxx". Doesn't this mean that the app should work even if there is no internet since it uses localhost?


I hope you could help me with my problem because I would like to try to create my own NDN app for Android that doesn't need an internet connection in order to communicate with other Android devices (hence the local NDN router without connectivity to the NDN testbed). Also, the only devices that I have for testing are two android phones and a laptop.
