[Nfd-dev] cannot stop NFD

With OS you're using?

for Ubuntu Linux 12.04, run

sudo service stop nfd

For 14.04+

sudo systemctl stop nfd
sudo ststemctl disable nfd

For OSX with macports

sudo port unload nfd

For OSX with homebrew nfd-stop should have done the job.
