[ndnSIM] Get the free cache space in a node

Hi all,
In brief, I am working on utilizing cache in off-path nodes in VANETs to increase the availability of data, particularly popular data. To move forward in that, I have a question: is it possible to get (as a number in bytes/Kilobytes/whatever) the free space of node's cache during the simulation runtime. Thanks and regards
