in addition to the great NFN work, have a look at the following papers which address issues directly on ICN and edge computing:
- NFaaS: Named Function as a Service - ACM ICN 2017
- Manifest: Mobile Named Functions for Edge Computing - under submission
- RICE: Remote Method Invocation in ICN - ACM ICN 2018

NFaaS includes some nice hooks to resolve short-lived and mobile functions, so this might answer some of your questions. For all of the above there’s code available open source too.
