As pointed out by Junxiao Shi, as long as Unix sockets are used, we can sidestep #5345<https://redmine.named-data.net/issues/5345> for certain applications for communicating with the forwarder directly. This likely will yield efficiency gains for things like NFDC when subprocesses are not required and will likely have a number of other use cases.
