Thanks for the reply. I've now added the dependency to the install script (@see Gerrit).

Best,
Philipp

We have been installing dependencies through ./install.sh.

Hi all,

I've pushed the RoutingHelper to Gerrit and made changes as proposed by Alex.

The RoutingHelper requires the Python igraph library to calculate the shortest paths between all nodes, which is currently not a dependency of Mini-NDN. Is there a proper way of defining new dependencies?

Thanks
Philipp

Hi,

thank you for your quick reply. Now that I know that others are interested, I'll prepare the component for being integrated. Some cleanup and improvement of source code comments needs to be done first.

I'll submit it to Gerrit when this work is finished.

Thanks
Philipp

Uploading change to Gerrit is preferred:
https://github.com/named-data/NFD/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md#gerrit-uploading-patches-and-code-review

But Github pull should also be fine.

We can review once you push.

Hi Philipp,

Thank you very much for your willingness to contribute to the Mini-NDN project. The IP routing helper seems to be a very useful component. It will be great if you could work with Ashlesh (cc'ed) to make it part of Mini-NDN.

Hi there,

I recently used Mini-NDN for the evaluation of an application which uses IP and NDN functions. Therefore I created something like an IP routing helper, which configures static IP routes (based on the lowest hop counts) between all nodes in the emulation topology. If this component is useful for the community, I would like to contribute it to the Mini-NDN project.

Best,
Philipp
