My first plan A is to port NDN-Lite to Contiki NG. I made the NDN-Lite stack on top of Contiki NG. Both are using Make for configuration management. I tried many different ways to integrate both. However, no success yet. (I feel dumb :( For some details: I got NDN-Lite from: https://github.com/named-data-iot/ndn-lite I got Contiki NG from: https://github.com/contiki-ng/contiki-ng (the latest version). Contiki NG has a very nice GUI to simulate the networked applications. However, the latest version of Contiki NG's GUI is not good. I do not know why. I can provide my laptop's hardware and software if you need. Anyway, this is not the big issue. I can find other alternatives. The big problem is when I run the make command on Contiki NG, where I will try to integrate both, I am having the following problem: OMG: I accidentally removed my Ubuntu OS that was running on VMware. Let me think: It was saying something like: Nothing to be done for ... (I do not remember what it was). I thought, maybe the source files are not updated and need to be changed..I did it. I still have the same problem. If I can not complete NDN-Lite on Contiki NG for this issue, I can not integrate Contiki NG and NDN-Lite. Any ideas? I need to restore my Ubuntu. It is not interoperable with any other NDN codebase due to the usage of a different fragmentation protocol (see https://redmine.named-data.net/issues/4814 ). It also lacks a data synchronization protocol such as StateVectorSync, which is believed to be an essential functionality needed by many NDN applications. Moreover, NDN-Lite has been moving away from its roots in small IoT devices. The ndn-iot-package-over-nordic-sdk repository, last updated in 2019, is the only port of NDN-Lite that can run on a microcontroller. New additions in the main NDN-Lite repository have not been tested on a microcontroller, and I have noticed that they may consume a substantial amount of RAM. Therefore, I believe that trying to port NDN-Lite to another platform would be wasted effort, unless the above issues are addressed first. Nowadays most of the new developments are in ndnd , a codebase written in Go. It is interoperable with most other NDN systems and supports recent protocols like StateVectorSync and LightVecSec. Using the TinyGo compiler, a Go program may be compiled to run on dozens of microcontrollers. If you are interested in running NDN applications in IoT devices, I'd suggest trying to compile portions of ndnd with the TinyGo compiler. If there is a more recent codebase, I appreciate it if it is shared with us.(I got the answer below: NDND) We chose Contiki NG OS because we have some know-how about it. We know it is easily ported to POSIX (i.e. RIOT) At least, we want to give it a shot. I am also curious if I can manage to integrate it for the NDNComm 2025 Hackathon. There would be no LightVerSec if certificate retrieval cannot be implemented. We chose Contiki NG OS because we have some know-how about it. There is "zero or negative" value in porting software to an "IoT platform" that is only tested on the computer. It only gets interesting when the software goes into an actual microcontroller, where the RAM is highly constrained. So, which microcontroller are you targeting? What are the capabilities and constraints of this microcontroller? Does the TinyGo compiler for this microcontroller? For the NDNph + esp8266ndn + PION combination I mentioned above, they were developed and tested on three microcontrollers: ESP8266, ESP32, nRF52832. Note that Raspberry Pi and similar devices that run full Linux distributions are not considered "IoT devices", but are full computers. Especially related to our research: https://datatracker.ietf.org/meeting/122/materials/agenda-122-icnrg-00. There might be some other channels to follow up on, related to NDN. They might be ACM or IEEE, or... I would like to follow. Any ideas? 2) I am very happy to see that there was an NDN-related presentation on: Offline Content Access with NDN and D2D Communication However, I was very surprised that Lixia's name was not spelled out in that presentation. Any ideas? 3) CCNx sounds like another possible direction that we need to follow up on. AFAIK, Van Jacobson, another inspiring Internet pioneer that I follow, is leading the CCNx. I do not know how I can follow CCNx work closely. Sure, a mailing list and Van's email might help. I found Van's email address, but no reply so far. I would also like to follow CCNx. Any ideas? 4) As far as I see, the current NDN has security flaws and an architectural design. I would like to discuss these issues with friends who are eager to have fun in these directions. As I understand, Lixia is not interested in. Beicuhan, Davide, Junxiao are open to discuss these issues. What about Deniz, Deborah and others? If you are interested, please let me know. I'll open up a discussion group on this. We have beautiful weather in Adana, Turkiye, today. Let me know if you are planning to come to Adana. I'm welcome to support you on accommodation, meal and Adana trip expenses. You only need to get a[ Visa] and flight/bus/etc expenses. I have a very small budget. So please let me know asap. Have a nice weekend. The best, a -- **?Uyar?: Bu e-posta mesaj? ki?iye ?zel olup, gizli bilgiler i?eriyor olabilir.
