Visualizer is quite finnky and can be hard to make it work. Pitfalls sometimes relate to version of Python (do you have 2 and 3 installed?); you may need to install dependencies using apt or pip (easy_install). It is, honestly, a trial and error approach. I think the latest I tried with Ubuntu 20.04 and list of what needs to be installed listed there, but things may be already outdated...
