It says clearly that, if necessary, NDN network performs packet fragmentation on a hop-by-hop basis (definitely not by “endpoints” — when a consumer retrieves some specific data, they may come from anywhere)<br class="">

That’s the exact file I referred to. You’re right. It’s mentioned hop-by-hop fragmentation. But after counting its issues, in the conclusion part (last page) it says (I’m quoting):<br class="">

Maybe there is something attached to this file which I haven’t seen it yet. But for the time being I see some differences between p7, 8 and p9 which I don't understand. Do we consider intermediate nodes (e.g. routers) host here? I don’t think so.<br class="">
