Hi Michael,

thanks for writing up the synopsis. Will read and comment when I get more time. for now 2 quick comments:
1/ it seems that the synopsis was written before the recent NDN spec update
(please see https://named-data.net/doc/NDN-packet-spec/current/ <https://named-data.net/doc/NDN-packet-spec/current/>)

2/ you wrote "Additional technical challenges enter into the picture when mobile and transiently-connected elements are involved, which has led to many active areas of work today in such things as mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) and delay tolerant networks (DTN). How are these related to decentralized content-oriented networks? Can current efforts such as NDN and IPFS support mobility and delays?"

Those are good questions.
To the last one: I need to read more about IPFS, but I can answer the NDN part with "yes".
I had planned to explain, as I see it, the relation between ad hoc mobile, DTN and NDN as I see it in an panel report for ICN-SRA 16 (http://icnsra.nz.comm.waseda.ac.jp/?page_id=61 <http://icnsra.nz.comm.waseda.ac.jp/?page_id=61>) panel on "Application of ICN in Infrastructure-Free Environments: Rural Areas, Disaster Recovery, and Military Tactical Environments",
but didn't manage to finish it quickly, so I gave up. Your comment made me believe that report is still worth finishing, however late it is.

more later,
Lixia

If anyone is interested in seeing the materials, they can be found at https://mhucka.github.io/dcons/. I will happily accept corrections and suggestions -- I did my best, but I'm sure there are mistakes.
