> • Accommodations: Hotels in Cambridge, especially in Kendall Square and Harvard Square tend to be expensive. Not much we can do about that. You can often get better rates by going further away (even downtown Boston tends to be cheaper) but then you'll need to get to and from the venue. Renting a car is not a good idea in general, because traffic is horrible and parking expensive. Taxis are generally available and not too expensive. Uber is available throughout the Boston-Cambridge-Somerville core and very popular. In addition to the the venue hotel, the following hotels are walking distance from the venue:
> Hotel Marlowe, http://www.hotelmarlowe.com/, 25 Edwin H. Land Blvd., Cambridge, MA 02141, Tel: +1(800) 825-7140 (across the street from the venue)
>
> Hampton Inn, http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/Cambridge, 191 Monsignor O'Brien Hwy, Cambridge, MA 02141 Tel: +1(617) 494-5300 (.5 miles)
>
> Marriott Kendall Square, http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/boscb-boston-marriott-cambridge/?pid=corptbta&scid=b661a3c4-9c47-48c8-9e13-75b66089dd79 50 Broadway, Cambridge, Massachusetts 02142 Tel: +1-617-494-6600 (.5 miles)
>
> Residence Inn by Marriott http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/boscm-residence-inn-boston-cambridge/ Six Cambridge Center, 120 Broadway Cambridge MA 02142 Tel: +1-617-349-0700 (.6 miles)

> • Transportation: Logan Airport is very close to both Cambridge and downtown Boston, however taxis from the airport still manage to cost between $20-$25. This is definitely the best option unless you are intrepid and want to take public transport. To to that, take the Silver Line Bus from the airport to South Station, then take (via free transfer) the "T" Red Line to the Kendall Square station. This station is very close to the two Marriott hotels, and about .5 miles from the Royal Sonesta. For departure, the cab stand at the Royal Sonesta is quite reliable and even in rush hour traffic it is only about 20 minutes to the airport terminals.
> • Food - Lunch: We will have coffee and snacks at the venue, but no catered meals. Lunch options very close to the venue are copious, including the following:
> In the Cambridgeside Galleria (across the street from the venue): California Pizza Kitchen, P.F. Change, and a food court with typical fast food options
>
> Similans Thai - one block away on First Street
>
> Shabu on Mein (Ramen) - one block away on First Street
>
> • Food - Dinner: The Kendall Square area of Cambridge used to be a wasteland, but has in the last 10 years gotten a very large complement of excellent restaurants in all price ranges. Some of my favorites (all walking distance, although some a long walk) from the venue include The Helmand (Afghan), Evoo (New American), Za (high-end pizza/salad), West Bridge (small plates), Catalyst (somewhat expensive Bistro food), Hungry Mother (southern), Legal Seafood (classic Boston).
